Hello, I am Kashif Moattar. I am currently studying in the
University of Waterloo as a student undertaking the
Computer Science program. I am currently in
Year 3A, signifying that this is my 3rd year in University. In this program, I am currently studying the fundamentals of programming languages ranging from usage to in-depth learning of what I do. In addition, this includes passionately
inspecting systems and
networks in my environment. I am also learning subjects integral to
Computer Science such as
mathematics, and
logic to deepen my understanding of programming itself.
I have
experience collected over the years. Most recently, I’ve gained professional experience in the workplace as a programmer between two workplaces. My freshest experience in such a workplace was at
CEL Systems as a
junior applications developer (JAD). Within this role, I have
developed web-pages using
C# under the
MVC architecture. At the same time, I have worked with
databases to
fetch, clear, and get queries using
SQL and
MySQL. In this role, I have also developed a
market-ready application for hotdesking at said company. Using skills in
C, C#, C++, SQL (including forks), Excel and PowerApps, I have made significant updates in certain projects.
I also have worked at
Georef Systems Ltd as a
software developer before this. Similarly, I have
developed and
maintained code using Visual Studio code to create meaningful websites that have and will power most of Canada’s school busing schedules and routings. Again, I had used
C# and
MVC primarily in this job to fix bugs and create new pages for our future clientele.
In the past, I have joined my school's
6070 Gryphon Machine’s FIRST Robotics as a member in both the
Mechanical Team and
Electrical Team in alternating terms. In which, I have
collaborated in creating a
robot that was functional in terms of the competition’s rules. I have also
mentored others in programs such as
CAD, and
Excel Sheets.
I have also volunteered at
SEVA Food Bank as a guide for
2 years, at which I also helped mentor newer volunteers to the organization. Through
communicative capabilities, I have
helped my clients with and without the capability to speak English through gestures and other languages to obtain the necessities that they need in the client’s life.
I have worked as a
private tutor for children between grades 1 to 5. Here, I have taught several of my client’s and their children the subjects of
math and sciences based on what troubles they have, and what they are learning in school. In this role, I have been
responsible for taking care of shaping the minds of children by clarifying the subject and enriching their knowledge further.
